Gods FREE Gift of Salvation

Picture
2 Peter 3:9  The LORD is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Your life here on Earth in your fleshly form is but a flash in the pan, a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow. You have a very short time in which you will choose your eternal destination. No one else can make this decision for you, it is a personal thing between you and the Almighty. You can choose to love God and have a relationship with Him or you can choose to ignore God's plan of Salvation for you. Either way, you will choose. Your life in the flesh will one day end but your eternally living soul will continue on forever and that’s a mighty long time. Where you spend eternity is entirely up to you alone
.

I am now going to TRY to explain:
- How much God loves you.
- The reality of sin in your life.
- The penalty that must be paid for that sin.
- Your inability to pay this debt.
- Gods solution to pay this debt.
- Your responsibility to God.
- The results of Salvation.

God loves you
How does one explain love? We struggle to explain or even express love in human terms. So how does one explain the love that God ( the creator of all things ) expresses towards us? ( At this moment, I feel so antiquate, it's unbelievable. ) It has been said that the love of a parent towards his or her child is the greatest expression of love there is. But would one willingly sacrifice his or her own child to save the life of someone else? Of course not, the parent would lay down their own life first.

So how can I possibly explain that God sacrificed His only begotten son Jesus Christ to save our lives? This act of love is so incredible, so immense, so overwhelming that the human mind can not truly comprehend its meaning. Which is why the over-whelming majority of us
( including myself for the first 37 years of my life ) fight against it. ( And most never accept. ) The love our Heavenly Father has for each and everyone of us is truly beyond measure as the following Scriptures demonstrate:

- John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
- 1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father.
- Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

The reality of sin
Like it or not you are a sinner, ( in Gods eyes, not mans ) we all are. Please do not be offended, I say this not to insult you but to show that we all suffer from the same problem.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Let me show you. Answer the following questions and I will provide the answers for myself.
1. Have you ever looked at someone in a lustful manner? I have. According to Scripture, this makes me an adulterer. The Seventh Commandment states: Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. But Jesus took it even further when He  said: Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery. 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman  to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
2. Have you ever stolen anything? ( No matter how small. ) I have. According to Scripture, this makes me a thief. The Eighth Commandment states: Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
3. Have you ever told a lie? ( Again, no matter how small. ) I have. According to Scripture, this makes me a liar. The Ninth Commandment states: Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. ( Everyone is your neighbor )

Remember: This is only three of the ten commandments of God and I have just admitted of breaking all three. So come Judgment Day when I stand before Him, He would find me guilty of being an adulterous thief and a liar. Not to mention the other seven. How did you do? You say you didn't admit to any of them? Remember, I said there are ten all together.

You can see them here and ask yourself if you have broken any of Gods laws.

Also remember this: James 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

And before anyone says it. " But we're not under the law anymore, we're under grace. " I present the following Scriptures:
- Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
- Matthew 22:36-40 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Here are more Scriptures to show that (according to God, not man ) we have all fallen short.
- Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.
- Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
- Jeremiah 17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
- Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
- 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

The Penalty

Now that we've established that " we are ALL sinners " and would stand guilty before God, it's time to learn our punishment.

- Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
- Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
- James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
- Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
- Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD.
- Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
- Revelation 20:12-15 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and Hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I think the above Scriptures are self explanatory but please pay close attention to:

Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This will be your punishment ( not if, but ) when you stand before the one true God of the universe and it is announced that your name is not written in the Book of Life. I really don't know how else to explain it except to say this...

YOU TURNED YOUR BACK ON GODS WONDERFUL GIFT OF SALVATION.
OFFERED TO YOU ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE!!!
THEREFORE: GOD WILL CAST YOU IN THE LAKE OF FIRE FOR ETERNITY!!!

What's eternity like?
Imagine emptying the worlds oceans.
" One tiny thimble at a time."

Mans Inability
There is absolutely nothing you can do to pay for the sins that you have committed in this life. You can not help enough little old ladies across the street, donate enough money to charity or kiss the big toe on the left foot of some statue to be right before God. Regardless of what man says, you do not and never will possess the ability to pay for this debt by yourself. But this debt MUST be paid if you ever expect to enter into Gods presence for eternity.
- Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
- Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
- Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
- Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
- Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Gods Remedy
You will be pleased to know that God Himself has paid your debt. How? By sacrificing His own son Jesus Christ. This is truly is the greatest example of Gods love toward us. Click here to learn much more about the only begotten son of God.

The following is by far the best explanation of our Heavenly Fathers remedy to pay the sin debt that we all owe to God.

It's Friday afternoon and you are driving home from work. You're excited because you have some big plans for this weekend, when suddenly you notice that a police officer is pulling you over. You stop on the shoulder of the road and the officer informs you that you are under arrest for driving through an area clearly designated by ten signs stating a 25 mile an hour zone due to a deaf, dumb and blind convention but you drove though at 50 mph. What you did is very dangerous and is punishable by a $25,000 fine or prison.
You are arrested and immediately taken before the judge. You plead your case before the judge by stating that you didn't see the signs and you promise to never do it again. You inform the judge that he seems to be a fair and honest man and you literally beg for mercy in your case.
The judge informs you that the area was clearly marked by ten warning signs and that ignorance of the law is no excuse. He also informs you that yes, he is a fair and honest man and because of that, justice must be served. You are sentenced to pay $25,000 or to spend a long time in prison. You tell the judge you can't pay and they prepare to take you away to prison immediately. But just as you are being taken away, a man runs into the court room and says wait, I have paid this mans fine, let him go free.

This is an explanation of the story:
1. The drive home represents your life.
2. The weekend plans are your plans for your life.
3. The arresting officer is death, which comes when least expected.
4. The convention represents this world.
5. The 10 signs are the 10 Commandments of God.
6. The judge is God.
7. The fairness and honesty of the judge is Gods unchanging righteousness.
8. Ignorance of the Law is your denial of your conscience.
9. The $25,000 ( that none of us can pay ) is the fine for breaking Gods Commandments.
10. The prison is Hell.
11. The man running into the court to pay your fine is Jesus Christ.

Scripture that supports the above.

- Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
- Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD.
- John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
- Acts 4:12 Neither is there Salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
- Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Mans Responsibility
Like it or not, you are responsible to God for the actions you do in this life. Man tells us that we are responsible to no one. The law of the jungle prevails and that we are nothing but animals. But if God did create us as Scripture claims, then does not that make us responsible to Him? Of course it does. But also remember this; God, in His infinite mercy has given you an opportunity to be made right before Him. It is your responsibility to accept His free gift of Salvation as set forth by His supreme sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ. Or to be held responsible for your sins by yourself. Remember: You are incapable of paying this debt because of your sin.
- Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the LORD.
- Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our LORD Jesus Christ.
- Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the LORD Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
- John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
- Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.
- Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.

Results of Salvation
When you are touched by the hand of God, it is unlike anything you have ever experienced before. I can not accurately describe it for mere words fail me accept to say that it truly is a life changing experience.
- John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
- John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
- Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
- John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
- Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
- Philippians 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
- 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

So as it has always been and always will be, the choice is completely up to you. If you have read this far then I ask you:
- Do you believe that I'm telling you the truth?
- Do you believe in God?
- Do you believe that Jesus Christ is truly the only begotten son of God?
- Do you believe that He died for you sins and on the third day, He rose from the grave alive?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you already know what you must do because God Himself has written it on your heart. You must tell God that you believe and ask Him to forgive you: Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS!!! If you prayed and asked God to forgive you of your sins that's great but I can not tell you that you are saved. NO MAN CAN!!! Only you and God know this. Nothing has changed, it's still a personal thing between you and God. No man has the right to tell you that you are saved. Not a Preacher, Pastor, Reverend, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and not even the Pope. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE!!!

The over-whelming majority of churches ( especially in the US ) will ask someone if they believe certain things about God and His son Jesus Christ and if that person agrees, they will lead that person in a prayer and proclaim that person to be saved. This is NOT based on Scripture and is heresy before the almighty. Jesus never said: Pray this prayer and I will save you. This majic prayer is no where in Scripture. Scripture tells us to believe with our heart and confess with our mouth.

However I will say this:

- If you do not see a change in your life, meaning you do not see the world differently.
- If God does not show you the sin in your life and you do not have a strong desire to stop doing these sinful acts.
- If you do not have a desire to read Gods word.
- If you do not have a desire to attend church etc.

Then I would question whether or not your name is written in the Book of Life. Why? Because when God saves your soul, He will transform that soul to the image of His son who was sacrificed to save your soul. That is what this is all about, we are to become like Gods only begotten and perfect son Jesus Christ.

I realize that this is probably not what you were expecting. You thought I was going to talk about love, joy, peace and happiness. That I was going to tell you if you accepted Gods gift of Salvation that everything was going to be wonderful and all your problems would be solved today. Well I'm sorry to disappoint you but Salvation does not work that way. Yes you will have true peace but you're also going to still have problems in your life and if anyone tells you any different they are lying to you. And as much as I hate to say it, this is exactly what most churches ( especially in the US ) preach today.

The best advise I can give you is to seek God first, foremost and always. Take everything that man tells you and compare it to Gods Holy WORD. Never take anything for granite, including what I tell you in this site. Remember, I'm just a man.
